LCWC supports the Black Lives Matter movement. Grieves the death of George Floyd.

Updated: Jun 10, 2020

Greeley, Colorado: We at the LCWC express our deepest sympathy to the family and friends grieving the loss of George Floyd.

We join our Nation, and many others in expressing our heartbreak over the callous and unlawful actions by members of the Minneapolis Police Department that caused his death. Mr. Floyd’s life was taken unjustly and without reason. The murder of George Floyd underscores the fact that in this great Nation, not all people are treated equal, discrimination and racism continue to exist. Again, and again, people of color are experiencing violence and death by those sworn to protect and serve at a rate that is disproportionate when compared to those of other races. It is horrific to think that many of these travesties go unpunished, with neither victims nor society finding justice. LCWC stands with others who seek to eradicate racism and demand equal human rights for people of color. We call on our elected leaders to provide laws that ensure such inalienable rights and provide protections for those who do not currently have them. We are committed to remove racial inequities that suppresses the black community and other people of color. Now is the time to listen. Now is the time to understand. Now is the time to be heard. We stand in solidarity with the black community and support the Black Lives Matter movement. We encourage our friends and supporters to demand equality for our black brothers and sisters and further accountability by government agents that work outside the law. LCWC believes that Black Lives Matter, to say otherwise undermines this truth. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our neighbors passionately protesting for much needed change and moral rectitude in our fractured society. It is time. #BlackLivesMatter
